Connect 500,000 litre in-ground harvesting system; All work conducted outside operating hours.
As a retrofit project, Ultraflow was challenged to re-design and install a new Siphonic water management system with minimal disruption to the ongoing operation and trading of the site whilst also effectively re-purposing viable existing components.
With an area of 7,000m2 and only 4 downpipes, the team at Ultraflow cleverly re-used the majority of existing high-level collector pipe, replacing the pre-existing, inadequate system with higher performance Ultraflow Siphonic outlets.
In addition, an existing 500,000 litre in-ground network of harvesting tanks were re-connected with all works undertaken outside trading hours, from 6am-9am and 6pm-2am.
Requiring detailed coordination with tenants and minimising disruption to the ongoing operation of the site, the project included the engineering and construction of new large bore pipes through the level 1 car park to access the in-ground water tanks.
The Ultraflow Siphonic system successfully proved itself with the ultimate test shortly after completion, in Sydney’s ‘once in 100 year’ storms during June 2016.
