The IKEA distribution centre in Marsden Park is the first of its kind. It heralds the establishment of the company's online service in Australia as well as being the largest distribution centre for furnishing in Australia.
With a 100,000 m2 roof catchment area and 70,000m2 siphonically drained, the large volume of water through individual systems required pipe sizes of up to ø530 mm to allow appropriate discharge.
Additionally, the 38 metres high bay in the centre of the site was also drained siphonically, requiring detailed planning, coordination and care during installation.
The completion of centre is due for mid 2017.
